too bad for me as i was very happy to buy your car Mark…
Oh, hello
Sorry about that, but you wouldn’t believe the hassle that getting the screen replaced was causing me.
There is no-one within an hour drive who could do it, it takes all day and I’m not even sure that Christine will have recovered from giving birth enough to drive a second car to collect me.
Rest assured that if anything goes wrong with the sale you will be the first person I contact, even if you do know Junks…
I should have had it replaced before Simon came along, but I wasn’t planning to sell it after being disappointed with the Nissan GTR and it wasn’t bothering me.
YES absolutly ! The guy who bought mark’s car has contact me to know if this is “normal” ? i have other pictures…unbelivable !
This exige is the worth i’ve ever seen. Rusted everywhere and interior as clean as a pigsty !
Surely these are things that he should have checked before purchase??
I’m assuming the buyer does not live in the UK, but I may be wrong. No doubt Franck will tell us.
Re reading the Pistonheads advert, makes me cringe after seeing the photo. I’d be very surprised (nay, gobsmacked) if Pat Thomas of Kelevdon will be best pleased to be associated with that car in its present state. Wonder how long ago it is since he last saw the car? The new owner ( he lives in France ) has trust mark and sent the money without seeing the car…and as a lot of new lotus buyer, he did not imagine such a car could be in so bad condition.
At the beginning he was just disappointed by the dirty interior…but he did not see the rest…
This car has been serviced every year i think and always at the same Lotus dealer. So for sure they knew the condition of the car !
Sorry had to be the first to get that in That does look pretty awful Maybe the owner did not realise how bad it was underneath? although they dont go like that overnight.
I think this thread has potential to end up in the muppet show.

If the owner won’t authorise the “dealer” to do the work, you can’t blame the dealer, & he was not selling the car anyway. Pat Thomas is not actually a “dealer” but a Lotus specialist, who prepares/runs many cars for historic racing. I have never heard a bad word said about his work. As I said before, I don’t think for one minute that he would be happy with the advert, & what turned out to be reality.
Franck, I’m sure that Pat will be at Donington (he usually has a stand), so it may be a good idea to speak with him. Is the new owner coming to Donington with you & Damien?

He used to be a dealer, but that was a few years ago now, followed by a period as an authorised sevice centre.
I could tell you a tale or two about his work. Personally I wouldn’t go near the place
Oh, that’s interesting Tim, for as I said above, I’d only heard good things, although I’m only aware of 3 or 4 peeps who have used him for work on their Exiges/Elises (usually after something’s broken at Cadwell).
Obviously no need to post details, but good to hear your valued opinion.
