Look in the small print… Captain Slow in the 190, the Stig in the 120
Most of that is chuff in my experience, must be very biased as to the drivers and their abilities, I had a sport160 and drove it endlessly on track and only ever struggled against Exige’s and 340R, I never found either variant of Elise as good on track or as competitive, I had lightly modified it for improved induction and exhaust flow, and fitted the UCR gearbox but nothing to significantly effect bhp.
I remember reading that at the time and dismissing it as tosh.
Myst have been different conditions or different drivers… ain’t no way a VX220 (N/A) is faster than ANY Exige variant, ever.
I think its all spot on owning an S2 Exige
A very strange article. How comes his comments between a 177 and 190 Exige S1 are so different, All I can tell is the 190 is noisier and needs me to polish the back of the car every time I wash it to get all the black marks off!
Not sure where they got the S1 Sport190 from on a “P” plate it must have been the worst set up car ever to be that slow…
I’ve obviously been wrong about my S1!!!but I’m still not getting an S2.
Julian Bailey - absolutely pants driver, nuff said
