Seat Weight?

How much do the Probax seats weigh without runners? Trying to work out /kg weight saving of going to CF seats.

Lots !!!

Jonny ‘I’ll save weight no matter what’ Fox will be along shortly me thinks !!!

From memory I think the std seats weight around 7kg each

I remember seeing the weights some where…they are not that heavy to start with, but there are saving to be made.

Which carbon seat are you look at? The Cup 260 ones are very pricey!!

Ok, so full CF seats weigh about 3kg, so 8kg saved overall.
Cost of seats 1500 so just a bit under 200 per kg which is not bad value compared to some upgrades.

Ade

Which seats are you looking at for 1500 ?

Only ask as JF has some really nice Mogs which I think were quite a bit cheaper than that. I also saw some quite nice Tillet seats at DT’s the other day - Around 400 each for the low to middle range

Ade - speak to jkcomposites. They do Carbon ones for not much money at all.

These are 350 for 2, Carbon is 100 extra (each I believe).

Looking at the Reverie Mulsanne B (2nd hand) so very light as they are only single skin.

Do these fit the standard runners etc? They do look good.

Yes - fit standard runners.

They are extremely light, and are offered in either single or duble skin, and high sided or low sided.

High sided ones here…

Some more details on the CF ones…

Weight is around 3.4 kg, cost per pair is under 700 Inc. vat, the optional padding and delivered to your door.

I think they look great - pic here…

I think JF would happily pay 10K per kilo these days !!!

Hang on that’s more expensive than coke

Those are sweet looking seats for the money. When my car goes on a weight diet I’d certainly consider them. Do you always just use harnesses?

Go on a diet - much cheaper and with long term health benefits!

Ditch the std runners.

Hmmmmm, the standard ones just look better to me. I’d like to save weight but I like the stock seats so for me not worth doing unless its the Lotus 260 seats and I can’t justify the cost.

Boothy

the Lotus 260 seats don’t save that much weight over the standard seats.

I believe they save 3kg each over standard. Had mine out for harness fitting and they felt much lighter than standard.

Didn’t weigh them though - can do if needed

Just over a Kilo Chris believe it or not! We’ve been down this road a few of us with the deal from Lotus Motorsport while you were away buddy.

So they quote 12kg weight saving as follows

4kg - Roof
?Kg - access panels - can’t be more than a few hundred grams
?Kg - dash - cant be more than a kilo
?Kg - front splitter - again can’t be more than a few hundred grams
?Kg - Side pods - as above

That must make the seats 6Kg saving ?

I’m getting miffed now - @ JSR 2morrow and going to get the damn things weighed

Get shut of the wireless
