A lady/bird/bitch got in my car last night with bloody boots with razor heals and scratched the coragated ally plate that is just in front of the seat.
It looks a dam mess on my othrewise mint S2, is the ally part of the chassis or can i take it off and get it sorted or replaced?
Not sure but I think your stuck with it.
Was she fit? Could let her off if she was…
(Believe that’s part of the chassis, so suspect you might have to live with the scratches )
That’s Kharma moomin’…

Yes she was oh so fit but i love me car
she has just scratched the silver coating, what is the coating is it paint or anodised?
It’s anodised, but you may be able to touch in the scratches if you can find a good paint match. Not sure it will look that great though.
I’ve found wiping over with a paper towel and WD40 cleans the Ali and gives a sort of even sheen and helps scratches blend back in a bit.
I’d probably leave it to be honest and just think about the fit bird every time you see the scratches!
Thought I’d posted a reply but seems not to have added
Anyway, I have seen covers you can buy that fit over this to protect or cover up previous scratches. I think Geary sells them but not 100% sure.
Yep, found them http://www.eliseparts.com/shop/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=125&products_id=418 but not cheap.

It’s scratched forever, it’s part of the chassis and you can’t remove it or do anything about it (other than cover it).
Tell the bird she owes you big time now, how is she going to make up for it?

can you re-anodise ally ? , There must be places that anodise.
I will have a look on the net the safter .
you would have to dip the whole car in the anodising tank!!!
unless theres another way of doing it???
Nope, realistically you can’t.
Phoned stratton today and they told me that they can and repair a lot of footwell scratches on segy hand/ demo/ even new cars.
They use paint matched by Lotus and an air brush.
Got it booked in when its in for the next service.
Just need to get some slippers for the new girl.
But it’s not really anodized. I tell you because I’ve had the same done to the frame of a bike and it’s not the same.
But hey, give it a shot.
I would keep it as is and call it a battle scar
can you post some before and after photos - would be interested to see how invisible the repair is.
Its not anodise but just a thin fine spray paint but thats ok if it works.
Yes i will take and post pics.
