Sat Nav updates

Just wondered if anyone had any experience of non-OEM sat nav updates.
Audi quote £239 inc Vat plus £78 coding fee. I was not surprised, having read all about the outrageous fees charged. But I am not forking out that amount. Apparently, that’s the cost for every Audi model from A1 upwards.
Looking at latestsatnav.co.uk who offer the correct upgrade at £69.99.
Bugger of it is I have top of the range TomTom which is subject of a complaint at the mo as it loses signal all the time and can’t be relied on, otherwise I might just use that.
I’d be grateful for any guidance.
