As the title states, has anybody installed any/all S3 body panels on an S2?
What is so appealing to me about the S3 bodywork is the ability to install bigger/wider wheels and tires and the integrated side sill skirts for better aero.
Any insight on the endeavor would be greatly appreciated.
Access panels on the front clam are carbon fiber…but they are small… Who gives a shit about those?
The front clam nor the rear clam nor the doors nor the side sills are special on the Cup260…they are the same as any other Exige. The only “special” Cup260 parts that would get sacrificed on this conversion are the two access panels on the front clam. Why are you crying about those?
Not sure anybody is crying about it. At the end of the day it’s your car.
I think the point myself and maybe muu are trying to make is that the cup 260 is a special car in its own right as s2’s go. The extra carbon parts ( engine cover, roof, spoiler and access panels) were special only for that model and if you wanted to remove them again it’s your car.
If it were my car and I wanted wider archs I would either Gt3 or buy a v6 as For me a proper cup260 looks perfect as it sits.
A genuine cup 260 mileage depending warrents high £36k-£40k which is not a million miles away from v6 money these days. The question is would it be worth less as a “v6 replica”???
But that’s only my 2p’s worth and everyone’s opinions are different
Yea that really is my point, the cup260 was the peak of the S2 and while I’m all pro modding and far from a purest; removing the carbon panels, roof (who wants a scoop to nowhere), rear hatch, and wing to drop on some replica v6 clams seems silly. Especially when slicks wind give you all the traction you’d need for the torque a yota 1800 can muster.
