Before I get stuck in removing my drivers seat complete with the runners, anyone know if I can do this with the roof in place? Looks tight but I’d rather not remove the roof if I can get away with it… Thanks
Yeah no need to remove the roof
Done it loads of times. Put some cloths over the sill to avoid scratches. Tip the seat sideways so the back goes over into the otherside of the car. Then remove the seat bottom first.
Be careful, it is heavy with the runners fitted and the driver’s side runners can slide out. Tape them in place.
But its much easier with the roof off and taking the roof off is easy.
I’m with Will here, much easier if you have the space to remove the roof first.
I’m about to attempt this too as my seat runners have corroded so I was going to get them blasted and painted.
thanks all, I’ve not had a go at roof removal as yet but does sound like doing that first would make working on the seat easier…
Roof off is only a 10 min job and will make it a lot easier
