I want to increase my roof scoop size. Apparently size is everthing !!!
Options appear to be
New Roof from Lotus - 1800
Problem - old roof worth FA
New Carbon Roof from Sector 111 - 1800
Problem - as above and not painted to match the rest of the car
Extended Scoop from Reverie - 400
Problem - Cutting the old scoop away and it looks like it doesn’t reach the front of the screen which looks stupid
I have just seen Russ T’s picture of what looks like a extention piece on a S1 roof scoop.
Anybody do one for a S2 ? or any better suggestions ?
That is/was my car . Bad impulse buy which looked good but wasn’t. ebayed it a few months back. I had to template and fit an internal duct to run the air down the scoop rather than having it banging around it’s entirety. Carbon weave wasn’t up to much either. Elise parts have some good stuff but sorry this really is shite. Oh and it squeaks and I had to buy and fit proper Lotus door seals as the ones supplied where rubbish. No Chris don’t do it. Not slagging off Eliseparts, just this roof.
Sector 111 cup-spec style roof is wet carbon, which means it’s not worth the money. By the time when you get it shipped, customs cleared, it’d cost you alot more than buying a real cup-spec roof. The Sector 111 roof may look like the cup-spec roof, but it still is varied in design.
If you really want a new/upgraded roof, do it the right way, get a factory cup-spec roof. It comes with the proper seals and lining, you get a new T40 torx key (which you won’t need), it’s color coded and best of all, it’s plug-n-play, ready to be fitted and hassle free.
