S2 rear light led's

On the s2 rear led’s i have had a bank of 4 go

i have had them replaced by a friend but they have since gone again

is there something else that kills them?

A bank of 4x LEDs failing could be a dry solder, incorrect rated or poor quality LEDs.

Other factors that cause LEDs to fail are heat, human touch or incorrect driver/current.
