Replaced my knackered heater unit with a reasonable working unit from an S2 .
Worked fine on the bench , worked a few times with 3 speeds when installed BUt it has now stopped blowing .
Fuses and ,connections Ok .
Applying power directly to the motor connections doesnt work either .
Heard that the S2 unit needs alternative wiring
Dont want to remove the unit until,I.know the cure.
Anybody know anything about this??
I ended up getting a new one from Deroure Clive,…which was quite painful. I went out in the car today and after chucking that much money at a heater assembly I ALWAYS enjoy putting the heater on when its a cold day
Glad you 're getting some use out of it!
Too much salt on the roads to venture out anytime now.
Yeah the roads were dry and it needed a short run. It certainly makes people smile seeing this tiny pristine Racecar amongst the filthy anonymous crates on the road.
i did this:
replaced motor with a new one from a landrover i believe works extreamly well. view small amount of modification to get it to fit, offset of mount legs and height of them on the motor is different, nothing some nylon spacers and bolts didnt sort.
Do like that conversion - what Landie was the motor sourced from?
That looks good. There is a thread on SELOC. Re this. With the details …will source the Landie bits
Cheers
And what about originality and value Clive, it will be worth nothing with a modified heater …
Ah. A SELOC member then
Not a lot original about it anyway. Well not in the engine bay anyway.
