Anyone else waiting for a front splitter? See my post in for sale/ wanted … FIVE WEEKS + from Lotus !!!
have you had a price for a new one?As when i needed one last year i had wildly differing prices from two main dealers.
marc.
Osmond, yes the price was 131 inc VAT. Not too bad !
Just be careful with the type of splitter you put on - some of them effectively lower the front of the car (clearance anyway) by 20mm. When I had the ride height changed, 115 front, it became ridiculous. I had the eliseparts one which is near identical (except fibreglass) to the reverie one. It did not survive the MOT which took place at the same time as the suspension was put on, and died on the ramp.
I am now waiting to have alvan splitters put on - they do not front clearance.

i think he meant an original lotus jobby not an aftermarket one.
131 is spot on what i paid so you’re not being ripped off like when williams tried to charge me 200 plus!!

What? with 115mm? that’s the std Exige S1 front ride height! (and it passes MOT’s)
Uldis, I think he meant it got destroyed rather than failing.
Is it snowing up there
Well yes, but it’s still not too low, I’m lowering mine down to 100!
And yes, been snowing heavily for the past three days, and today I was finally snowed in the house. All the family stayed it, the girls playing outside and my wife and me cleaning the driveway.
Started shoveling at 8:30 and finished at 5:00pm.
I’m knackered!
Sorry guys - I did’t word that very well. Also, I misinterpreted the original post - seems you meant the lotus one. Duh on my part!
The ride height in front of the front wheel was 115mm, but the splitter is bolted underneath, taking it to an effective 95mm from the underside of the splitter.
Hence why it got crunched on the ramp. It is cooincidental that it was going for MOT. I hope the alvans work better on my car.
Anyone got any pics of the alvan splitter?
I figured I should get one in instead of cracking mine and then having to wait.
I spoke to sinclairs and apparently the Alvan Splitter doesnt fit the exige, although Wayne can ‘make it’
Anyone got any pics of the alvan splitter?
Just what is the “Alvan” splitter?
Apparantly, it’s this (copied from a link on SELOC). SELOC thread also says it doesn’t fit on the Exige - but why would you want to anyway?

isn’t that the same as the mod Brendan done whilst fitting a smaller number plate ?
Its the original splitter minus the numberplate plinth I think ??
I think Brendan’s mod required a hacksaw and some new fibreglassing - not just an unbolting job.
That mod looks ‘elise exclusive’ (it’s an elise in the pic)…to fit over the winglets
