Over the Christmas period there has been activity in the workshop at home and have created a splitter.
I used 6mm marine plywood (BS 1088) which was then bonded to the existing spoiler and protrudes 30mm.
Just fitted it on tonight and took these pictures.

Hehe, thanks Mr P, didnt see the other ones .
The car looks fab by the way, quirky, but still subtle enough to be cool .
David
OK I think I can see it now
Looks great, you just need a small number plate now!
(for show use only of course!)
Looks good - Any more pics of the rear wing ??

They’re as common as muck these days
Is it the same one as Gav (TarmacTerrorist) has ? - if so I’ve seen that already, but dare I say it looks better on a black car !

Yep, it’s the same as Gav’s, which is also exactly the same (save for mounting brackets) as those fitted to S1s ie Lotus Motorsport jobbies
The rear wing is the same as Gav’s, I wonder if he has noticed his one is missing yet!!!
Glad you like the sunstrip Mr P, am afraid I not able to divulge where it was sourced from
Well, the next project is to fit an exhaust gas powered hair drier to the engine so that I can keep up with those Hondas Its on order!

Hi David (alias MrD06),
I have taken a few more photos so that you can understand how I fabricated the splitter. Initially I was going to fix a sheet of 6mm marine plywood from the front of the wheelarch but did not appreciate all the different levels to be considered. Why on earth did the Lotus designer not make it all one level? Consequently I came up with the design as shown in the photos. I have increased the number of M5 fixings from 6 to 12 by fitting jack nuts, also have fitted a central support.
The plywood splitter was bonded to the fibreglass spoiler using Rapid Araldite(3 packs) and then I laid a single layer of fibreglass internally. The central support is fabricated using 6mm marine plywood and Araldite.
The leading edge of the plywood splitter is bevelled.
The end result is a surprisingly rigid fixture.
I suppose it is a bit of a fiddly job and can now appreciate why Maddog has not found the time to manufacture a splitter for sale.

Hi Splitpin
How did this design hold up? Looking at some options on this but think the car needs quite a lot of lowering to get the most from the enlarged splitter.
Hi Damon
Just for info, Splitpin’s real name is David Searle, & he does the occassional trackday, so keep an eye out for him
Thanks Pesky, I mean Rob
Edit: Ah yes, I see what you mean
