hi guys im new here and after advice please, i recently sold a s1 exige that had the cat took out and it sounded amazing popping and banging all the time and really motorsport like,loved it to bits but have just got a s2 black beautiful car but standard exhaust ,what can i do to it to get that sound back,i listened to a stage 2 exhaust and it just doesnt do it.would it mean having the cat took off or what.finally thanks all for your time and trouble its great to be on here.good to know you . cheers and all the best tricky!

Ive got a tubular exhaust and decat, it drones a little but you do get the poping etc
how much is it and where do you get one from,sorry im new to this so need all the help i can get,the noise was a pivotal part of owning and driving the car cheers

thanks for that.i used to love the pops and bangs on gear change and when you let go of the throttle it banged just like in motorsport,lovely sounds,i just dont think my s2 sounds anything like what it could. i really hope to get that back.looked at the website best thing i can do is give em a ring methinks.any more advice most welcome.finally thanks for your input.tricky
I’ve opted for the Quicksilver Ultra light and manifold from Hanger 111, sounds really cool…heard it on the site than later heard one at Donnington. Looks the nuts with there new eliminator kit and saves weight too! Lots of weight, got to love that…

I know the standard pipe on a drive by is almost silent and that is almost embarrassing! Anyway yes but not so much, sounds good but maybe Miltek! I had an RS4 with Miltek catbacks on (until some t**ts jacked me) and that POPPED like you could never believe (got it back and saw the light, sold and bought my Exige, mmm!). Still I’d shop around as sound soooo crucial!

Mine does, but then again I have a race cat (100 cell) & exhaust. It doesn’t pop and bang as much as a K-series engine (comparing to a friends Super7), but my pops and bangs are definately louder when it does. Sounds like someone is firing a gun out of the back of the car.
It did take a while to get it there though - after around 7000 miles on the exhaust and cat, it’s definately getting better with the pops and bangs.

Lots of exhausts on the market now,had the arqray single tip/de-cat pipe set up on mine for…a long time…
jim at 2b made me a bespoke ‘blowpipe’ which is nuts also, although thats now makin tunes in the states…on an ‘s’,
guess cops in the uk are not arqray friendly…
but its one hell of a system…on and off the track…sounds mental.
just ordered an 08 exige…and another arqray…
Had the (Hanger111) Quicksilver 4-2-1 sports manifold and ultra light titanium sports exhaust fitted week before Christmas…does it pop and bang??? Yes mate I can confirm it REALLY does and the cam change is positively violent

The decat makes very little difference, in fact sounds a bit ropey with the cat on.
Very LOUD on the road, especially on the motorway. Radio is not an option above 60 mph.
