Would be interested to hear peoples comments on wether the 211 is noticeable lighter and more exciting to drive than the Exige. Currently i’ve got an Exige and I love it but have recently been thinking about a 211. However the downside of no roof is a big turn off as I do a lot of winter events.
Anyone gone from their Exige to 211 and have any regrets?
I went through this dilemma last year and ended up buying my 260 Cup.
There is no doubt that the 2-11 is quicker (through the corners) and more exciting but I decided the downsides of open cockpit and trailering it more often than not were too much.
I like the fact I can drive to a track and back regardless of the weather etc and you don’t need a garage when you get there
For example I would not have wanted to drive a 2-11 to Spa and back this year and trailering it would have been a PITA
I should be sensible and stick with the Exige, you know when you just get a bit twitchy? There is nothing else I’d swap it for, I love my Exige and cannot think of another car I’d prefer for the same money. For me on trackdays it’s all about corner speed hence thinking a 211 might be fun.
Do you know if the interior is waterproof? A friend has an Atom and we’ve nearly always driven that to circuits rather than trailered it and we just put on our waterproofs and get cold.
ive just swapped to a 211 from an s2 exige as the s2 was only a track car and that went to the track on a trailer so thought i might aswel have a 211. Not used it yet, next track day is Donny October 25th so will be its first time out. The s2 will be there aswel if its not sold by then.
I’ve sold the 2-11 now. I did take it out on the road but its not something you’d want to do very often. If you think an Exige (s1 or s2) gets attention on the road wait till you try a 2-11. I liked the 2-11 and it seemed fast enough on track I just didn’t use it enough to keep it. The wind in your face is to much on the road, ok with a helmet on track but I just couldn’t wear a helmet on the road.
