S2 Exige £35,995

you all now know why

here is the link to pistonheads

You avin a laugh ade?

Yours would have to be perfect to get near that money surely?

No offence btw.

None taken

Depends on your idea of perfect? I do think it is worth that at least, to get it to where it is performance wise would cost you at least £10k more than that along with buying the car, do I think I will sell it at that, probably not, but you have to check

The investment in a car, particularly on mods never translates into pro-rata value increase. Maybe a small premium but little else,

Proving your car can be returned to regular spec without obvious tell tale signs, its the way to go.

Imho modding an original S1 exige these days will probably only add value to the originals that remain. That would please I few folks on here.

I do realise you never get anything like your money back on mods, but to do what I have done to mine would cost at least double the premium I have put on top of mine over a standard car, I still feels it gives value for money.

No doubt.

Nope, see above fella (& your other thread)*

  • Hey, Boothy’s replied :sunglasses: Maybe he’s interested :unamused:

Take the bits off buddy if you want to recoup your money.
It’s the only way.
Makes the car sooo much easier to sell cos you can price it realistically.
Your bits will sell like hot cakes m8 trust me
And … when you have 35k on your kitchen table you may just start looking at an Evora !!

First time I ever agree with Tim :stuck_out_tongue:

My car was newer, had half the miles and whilst had not quite had as much spent on it I had still lavished plenty and most of what I did was oem lotus which should generally give a better return than aftermarket stuff. I got £25.5k…

I honestly think you need to break it mate, £36k is the reserve of the cup260 I would be shocked if anyone was prepared to pay that kind of money for an 06 with aftermarket mods but I am more than happy to be proven wrong and hope I sells for as close to your asking price as possible.

If it were me though I think I would strip it back to something still quite special keeping the ecu and the chargecooler but strip off things like the carbon tat, shocks, wheels etc… stuff that’s pretty easy to sell on with good return.

I should think you would get £27k for the car and another good few k for the bits and bobs.

Totally agree on the pricing, especially with the mileage. I’ve sold quite a few modded Exiges, the market is very small, so they do need to be priced well to sell.

What’s the s1 Exige project then mate?

Was totally chancing my arm with this, I had what looked like one really interested guy and the conversation went on over a few days, then sadly the obvious news, he was a scam artist.
Then “Can I fax a copy of my V5 and driving license to his bank so he can get the loan approved”
you can imagine my response to that email! I can’t really print what I sent back :frowning:

Go on! Share it mate!

BTW… are you an S1 owner yet!!! :sunglasses:

Interesting thread. I have a fair few carefully selected mods on my car and it would pain me to have to break it if/when I go to sell because I think the combo genuinely ups the car by a good 20% all round - power, handling, stopping, reliability. I would not expect to get full compensation for the upgrades financially but would hate to see them as any kind of liability.
