S1 motorsport uprights

As some may know, we have the remaining new motorsport uprights from Lotus, that allow easy fitment of 2 pot front calipers to the rear of an Elise/Exige S1. These are bare uprights, with no supporting hardware to go with them.

Bearings and circlips are available, and the lower wishbone outer ball joint carriers are on the way.

We are looking at having some drive flanges made, as Lotus can no longer source them, and others on the market are not quite the same. They will be made from EN24t steel, that is as strong as you get, without material costs going through the roof.

We need to have a minimum number made to make this worth while, so thought I would gauge interest on here to see if anyone wants either complete upright assembleys, or replacement drive flanges for their Lotus Motorsport uprights.

Flanges with longer studs will be supplied but not fitted, so the end user can decide on stud length to suit their applications.

Price will will be 125 plus VAT, per flange and studs. Those that have already expressed an interest/ordered you are on my list!!!

wheres Con? or is he on the list already?

He might be!!

What does that make the price for the complete upright/flange/bearing please John ? (ie. everything you’d need to swap out the original).

OK, parts required are - this is per side

upright
NTN bearing
2 x circlip
drive flange with studs
lower ball joint/rose joint carrier
2 x lower rose joint spacer
rose joint
threaded bolt and nut to go through the above
stress bar that fits between lower ball joint and rear toe link

Total price for all of these items is 365 plus vat, per side, so 2 required. We would assemble the upright, bearing, flange included in this cost if required, provided that you let us know stud lengths beforehand.

Moi ?

Can you fit a handbrake to these?

Cheers

Simon

I think no.

It can be done, although not easily/cheaply or to be honest that nicely. Eliseparts used to sell a handbrake/footbrake caliper that fitted. I’ll leave those who have had direct experience to comment on them.

No experience of these calipers, but I did hear that Access cards were slightly more rigid

IMO the Elise parts hand brake callipers are totally shit. The end!

100% of the people that used them in the elise trophy had failures (me included), sometime very dangerous ones!!

IMO brake callipers should only have AP, Brembo or Alcon written on them.

Every serious road and race car in the world, cant be wrong.
