I have a set of Rimstocks that you could borrow until some turn up if you’re stuck lads. I don’t really want to sell them though. They’ve even got usable ZZRs on,…the rears maybe 80% fooked.
Very good of you thanks, I’ll keep it in mind if I’m still struggling coming upto Anglesey. I can always use the rimstock Elise wheels I’ve got with zzr tyres on, it will just look a bit odd that’s all.
Phil
They were at Martin’s until recently,…doh!
I’ll be at Donny at least a couple of times before Anglesey so can always get them up to there no problem.
There’s a set for sale on SELOC but they’re up at £1600 https://classifieds.seloc.org/ads/s1-exige-rimstock-wheels/
Another set sold recently on there for a bit less.
Spoke to him already, described as mint but the pictures show otherwise really. I don’t mind paying the money if they are unmarked etc and ideally with tyres ( even if they are worn out ) atleast I can get them on to move the car around whilst it’s being worked on and shift the Elise wheels on. Some others will come up im sure
I have a set of a Compomotive Mo5s for the s1 Exige. I bought them on here last year and I have had them fully refurbed in satin black with black decals. They look mega, and have never been refitted. I was going to use them for “wet” track tyres. I believe they are a bit lighter then Rimstocks and much stronger. My s1 is not going near wet tracks (Caterhams are sacrificial) so I will sell them to recover my costs. Pm if interested.
Keith
Wow Keith, you have a set of hens teeth for sale there.
Keith… You have PM
They look cracking. A few people have shown interest but think they are expensive. I want to cover what I paid which was £1000 for the wheels and £350 for the refurb. Maybe I paid too much but I do not think so, who makes s1 Exige wheels other than tmr?
See you at Donny soon.
Keith
If you are selling them for £1,350, that is an absolute bargain in my eyes. Id have put a ticket of about £1,750 on those.
With them being 8" rear, how do they sit in the arch in comparison to stock rims is my only concern ? Offsets to adjust ? Or use of spacers ?
I saw some fitted to a Motorsport Elise last year, looked MEGA!
What’s the offset though? They can’t be standard like he says else they will be well in the arch? I might have another option yet anyway I’ll know more this week I’m told.
If I didn’t have s2 uprights I would have these in a heartbeat and sell my cup wheels
They came off an S1 Exige that was used on track and I have fitted them to my car and they fit. Looks like they are sold now…maybe I have given them away!
They do have the unusual recommended offsets.
Keith
They can’t be a standard offset, if there an 8" rear and sit in the right place? I assume you don’t know what the offset is? Not that it matters to me as I’m not buying them, just interested really.
I think I sent you the pictures that I do not have to hand. The offset are stamped on the wheels spoke with the size. … too cold to go in the garage and read them.
Keith
Ok thanks must have been Phil you sent them to. I’ll see if he has the pictures still and have a look. At least you sold them now anyway.
… I think they are sold. Not too worried, they will be safe in the Garage loft and ( will be in demand as more replica cars are created. There are some S1 Rimstocks on seloc for 1500.
The offsets are 15 and 11 front /rear. I have fitted them with no tyres and the looked fine. Seloc says the std ones are 7, 5. I purchased them from a guy on here who used them on his race car with no problems.
Quick calculation, the wheels are 8inch rather than 8.5. That’s about 13mm different. To locate the wheel evenly you need to add half of that to the offset. 6.5mm added to 5 is 11.5. They are 11, I doubt they do 0.5mm steps. The front is a different matter, there is plenty of room as the wheels move in the arches when you steer.
My purchaser has got concerned about the wheels fitting, which is not a problem. I have a set of tyres that I will fit, put them on my S1 Exige and any future purchaser can see they fit. I think I will go closer to Sean’s pricing. They are fantastic and probably rarer than hen’s teeth. I just need to finish trashing my spare tyres at Bruntisthorpe with Don Palmer and them move them to the S1.
