It’s a baby 1-series M-sport Diesel. Not good. I have been promoted so my new car should be a 5-series…I did not even visit the dealer to look at one, I went for a Golf, the refund I get pays for all my track days!

I was about to use the face, but I’m not really suprised. Is it to a fellow forum member, or a random PH browser?
A nice guy from Southampton who came up today with his son. He is looking to use it for the occasional hill climb and seems to be a die hard Lotus fan since the Jim Clark days and has eventually realised his ambition of owning a Lotus.
Definitely a good way to go on some of the big engine upgrades if you let your head lead; but sometimes it seems better to spend new cash on your old motor.
Good to hear it is staying in uk Harvey
Good news indeed
Sad you’ll be lost to the fold, but glad it’s going to be in the UK.
Bomb shell landed today - the sale of my Exige is now subject to the prospective purchaser only proceeding if he can obtain an agreed value insurance deal.
He is arranging for a valuer to view my car early next week - has anyone any experience in these matters that I may be able to pass on to him?
Cheers
Harvey.
Could be a way to do a “post deal” haggle on the price?
I used to have agreed value insurance on old MGs and it was never a problem. You just needed some pictures and reference material to say the price was not silly. It’s supposed to give you enough money to get a similar car in a sensible amount of time (tricky with an Exige). I think you just need to wait and see and maybe give the valuer the phone number of someone in the trade who knows your car.
Agreed value insurance is becoming harder and harder to get these days though, there’s a thread about it on PH about it (can’t find it now). Although this thread on SELOC might be helpful:
Wasn’t there a thread about agreed value insurance a while ago?
See The 83Man i think, I’ll have a look.
See this thread, using search:
Agreed value insurance, what’s it worth?
Lots of info.
Cheers Guys, i’ll pass on the info.
Harvey
He’s playing silly beggers - everyone knows S1 are priceless
HTH
Well the sale has fallen through so this evening took the very clean, shiny car for a bit of a blast in the Warwickshire countryside.
Planning to take a day or two before putting it back on PistonHeads - If anyone on here is interested in the car please send me a PM
Absolutely rubbish - why do folk do this?
Nightmare mate. Fingers crossed the next one isn’t a time waster.
I hope you kept the pompass ass…s deposit mate!
What a bloody LOOSER!!!
Take it easy on the blasts however!!!
