S1 Exige Immobiliser

Looks like I have an immobiliser issue as when key turns fuel pump primes but nothing else happens and light still flashes on console.

Battery is fully charged and I have had it disconnected.

Is there a way to bypass the immobiliser as I see there is a unit at Elise Parts for this but says this is for Cobra not Meta alarm.

Help

Not sure if it helps, Simon had my bypass recently not sure if it worked. Anyway I’m about to strip out my Cobra if you want it and the key fobs? Again not sure if it’s the same Steve…

I have a bypass for a meta but, to be honest, once you have found the immobiliser it is pretty obvious what you have to do. If you get stuck I can tell you in a pm.

Thanks Jonny but the S1 has Meta unit.

Sent you pm bud

Steve

I have had a recent non start issue with my Exige - but since I’ve started using the ol’ gal a lil’ more regularly she starts first turn of the key again - to use a good old northern phrase ‘she was being mardy’

Jonny unfortunately the bypass doesn’t fit the Meta - its in safe hands - if you need it posting back pm your address - thanks matey

Best of

Simon

That’s a bit odd. Was fairly sure that the bypass was the same across every Elise, from S1 to S2 Exige.

Always started first time and was out 2 weeks ago but now nothing. maybe has gone into hibernation early this year Simon

Be good if same for both John but the bypass I found on elise parts says for Cobra and no mention of Meta

The Elisepaerts bypass fits the Meta in the Exige S1 for sure …
If you look at the picture of the thing on the website it shows what needs doing anyhow, just use some paper clips to jump the pins temporary to prove it. The immobiliser cuts both fuel pump and ignition coil circuit so if pump primes it’s not a sync problem but an immobiliser black box problem I guess, same outcome though …

Thanks Andy, will be getting seats out later to have a look

Hi - I “fixed” mine with the Eliseparts bypass plug the other day.

I must be pushing it in the wrong holes

No good to me anymore

Shrek lives again

Thanks for all the help guys, exiges.com scores again

Big thanks to Lee as usual as all I did was take the seats out

Glad you got it sorted Steve

Watching the traffic on this particular topic makes me wonder how many S1 Exiges still have “active” immobilisers?
Guess it’s not really a thing we should go too public on though…
Stu

Good point but Shrek still has active immobiliser.
