S1 Exige for Auction

Be interesting to see what this black beauty achieves in Tuesdays auction at CollectingCars. It’s also been up for £65k at CarandClassic, along with the stunning #0001 in Chrome Orange.

and another @ £70k…. PistonHeads

Sold for £66k (incl. fees 6.0%+VAT) :open_mouth:

Highest price achieved for an S1?

Looks like 50-60k is achievable for nice ones now, which is good to see given they’re genuinely different now to anything you can buy on the market these days. Always fairly low numbers for sale too. Current owners seem pretty happy to hold onto them long term.

People think this kind of pricing is silly and they should only be worth £30k are kidding themselves. A base-model 911 Carrera is £105k now, before you’ve taxed it on the road or even opened the options list. Realistically speaking a base-model Carrera is a £125k car now for anything that anyone would actually buy.

Yep I mean the danger of these types of conversations on forums like this are that we are all heavily biased  but particually the original colour and engine cars must be few and far between now, and very few cars offer the same experience and wow factor for the money.

and another…….

Sold for £49,500 in case anyone is curious and doesn’t feel like registering there.

Is that plus fees?

Can’t find any clear indication on the page (and I’m not overly familiar with the site otherwise), but I’d have to imagine that the premium is in addition given how round the number is…if the 6% premium were already included the winning bid would have been £46,698.

Sold for £49,500 + (6% + VAT) = £53k Total

Not a bad result for a nice low mileage silver car. The black one that sold recently for £66k must have been a spike or something!

I’m the new owner of the silver one, been looking for one for a while (Have a Cup 430), and I think this was a fair price for such a low mileage clean example. I tried for the black one but that escalated too quickly! I think this one is better anyway, so all good in the end. Just need to get it up to Scotland now…..

Congrats Dave, looking forward to seeing some photos of the 430 Cup with its new stablemate!

Are you going to be putting some miles on it, or keeping it as a garage queen / investment? Either way, I bet you’re looking forward to getting it home and enjoying it :+1:
