looks the biz!!
It actually is too, gutted Iv got to sell really, but Iv just bought a new house and it’s got a plot of land behind it and hopefully this will pay for a nice chunk of the oak frame I want to build
I spent most of last winter, took all the clams off looking for any damage, replaced every nut and bolt and cleaned all the front end, and then took everything out apart from the gear box and engine and replaced every gasket - hoses - nut -bolt and washer and renewed it all, plus added a fire extinguisher, spa design oil temp/pres gauge and a load more bits. Plus fabricated some nice Ali plate bits and had them anodised to smarten the engine bay up
Just trying to gauge what sort of price I should put this up for
Looks a lovely car. No idea on the value of these 'vintage ’ models but best of luck with the sale
It does look very good indeed.
This is the exact sort of car I will be looking for if I do decide on an Lotus , but would be hard to price on as looks like even modded real Exiges are worth less than a standard car.
What is the market for cars like this ?
I take it the same as most modified cars, where they are worth a fraction of the build cost.
I think original cars in metallic yellow are the most valuable.
To answer your question, niche market for normal cars, more niche for modded, very niche for recreations from an Elise no matter how nice they are but… niche does not have to mean cheaper, just takes longer to sell.
