S1 135 Sport (1999 S) 62k miles

Well I think I may just about be ready to try an exige so I am finally going to let go of much much loved 135 Sport. I would realy love a S2 chrome orange exige, so may consider a px if anyone is thinking of going back to a S1 elise.

This is a fairly well known car within the Scottish Elise community and it is often commented just how good an example this is of a much sought after very limited edition S1.

Lotus Elise 135 Sport (1999 S)

This is a rare opportunity to buy No. 48 of this limited production run of 85 cars. Widely regarded by Lotus buffs as the best S1 to own. This model was Evo’s Car of the Year in 1999.

12 months Tax and 12 months MOT.

Standard on this car from the factory were
 Hard top (included).
 145bhp engine.
 Improved inlet system.
 Close ratio gearbox.
Red and Black alcantara covered steering wheel.
 Quicksilver paint.
 Headlight covers.
Corbeau seats (more comfortable than standard seats).
 Alloy window winders.
 Dark blue hood.

The car is completely standard except for the following:

EBC Turbo Groove brake discs fitted about 18 months ago.
Stainless steel Brooke Kensington exhaust (S/S cat replacement pipe also available).
 S2 elise suspension upgrade.
 Braided brake hoses.
Harness bar and Willans 4-point harnesses (3 points included but not fitted).
 Red elise floor mats.
 Kenwood mask CD stereo.
Lotus footwell anti-corrosion warranty recall completed.

The car is currently shod on Toyo T1-R tyres with 4-5mm of tread all round.

I had the front clam resprayed 18 months ago and then had Defendal paint protection film added, so there are very few stone chips on the front clam as you can see from the pictures. I also had the grills and wheels powder coated at the same time and they remain unblemished.

Overall the car is in very good condition. The interior is unmarked although the rear corner of the sill protector on the drivers side is worn however this is a common on the elise.

Almost complete Lotus and specialist service history. The last C service and cambelt change was carried out 7,000 miles ago (last January) by Specialist Lotus Services in Edinburgh. I then carried out an A service in July '08.

I have now owned this car twice and for a total of 4 out of the past 6 years and it has always been a second car only used at weekends and holidays. Whilst I can’t claim that it has never been driven in the wet, by and large the majority of the miles have been done in the dry. The car has been garaged for all of its life.

The only reason I am selling is I finally feel it may be time to try a newer model. I may considering reducing the price by retaining the hardtop, removing the harnesses and bar and putting the standard janspeed exhaust back on, but would prefer not to.

Helps if I give a price
