Not unusual. The 1st thing I did when I got mine was to replace all of the cheap and nasty stuff Lotus use with either anodised aluminium or stainless steel - basically changed everything that’s accessable. It’s also worth using Coppaslip on the threads and ACF-50 on everything else, that’ll keep you rust free.

Please don’t go changing your suspension bolts for stainless steel versions.
As DaveP has said, I would not recommend changing the OEM steel bolts on the suspension for stainless or anything else for that matter unless they have been tested and approved for use…
Im no metallurgist but I have always been taughtg that doing stuff like this is a big NO, NO! Different metals act differently under varying conditions of load (shear, tension etc.) Although the bolt you have replaced maybe stronger in certain respects theres also a good chance that it could be a lot weaker than what you have replaced it with under the condtions you are asking it to work in!!
If youve got rusty bolts when doing stuff like this I would simply replace with std items and make sure they get a good lick of copperslip (antiseize) on them for future removal…
Not worth the risk to you or anyone else for that matter if they fail!!
Last time I had mine serviced the deaer commented on the rust-free state of the underside of the car and approved of the job; I had checked with Lotus that the bits I used were suitable. Also, with ali to ali contact there is no chance of a reaction, using ACF-50 also helps.
