Was up at Snetterton on Saturday and had a bit of an interesting one! One of the afternoon sessions, I let my mate take the exige out for 10 minutes, and when he returned the car was on “Refill”. I guessed it had just gone into reserve, so Clive (aka Mr Bean) and I took the car out for the rest of the session, no problems. Afterwards, went straight to the on site pumps and put 37.2 litres of fuel in a 36 litre tank… So how close was that? Anyone else have similar experiences…I’m wondering between the tank and inlet pipe how much fuel the car can take!!!
On another note, it was my first drive at Snetterton and I found that I was positively trouncing on the Elises through the fast corners. Now Clive was complimentary to say it was down to drivers skill (cheers mate! ) but others were saying that the Exige has a lot more grip through Corum and Riches corners…appreciate any comments becuase that took me by surprise!
Its all about the driver and how much they are willing to risk at a trackday … some drivers just want to have a laugh and others want to go banzai. I suspect you are in the latter group ;o)
oh and their skill level of course … I had an exige s1 and now have a ‘crappy’ elise s2 and I cant really feel any difference between my old car and my new one. Well until I get on the straights.
At the Exige’s day at Donny (2006?) i couldn’t start the car after the lunchtime photoshoot on th downhill pit straight. Once i got a push into the pits & the car pointing uphill…it started
I know, just trying to avoid upsetting anyone … I think some people assume that the exige looks faster so it must be. It is seriously gay though, bright pink with dale winton graphics on the side :O)

My old Exige was reading 1/4 tank so I was going to do another lap but decided to pop in past the car park. On restarting it read zero. Trundled back to Adenau and it took over 43L…
Nick…Undoubtly driver skill…
However now I know why you were so eager to give me a pax ride…just in case you needed pushing back to the pits!!
Lotus fuel gauges are notoriously inaccurate ,I always zero the trip after filling up and refil after 70/90 miles on track this usually gives me a good safety margin. (150/180 on the road)
I just paid 1.23 for 98 ugh!!!
