Run flats

Just had a call to say both rear tyres on the BM are dead, its only done 10k and I am a little pissed as Steph drives like Miss Daisy. I am guessing that the constant sliding around in the snow killed them quickly.
I rang my tyre guy and he was not overly happy about fitting non run flat tyres.
What are people thoughts? I really cba swapping summer and winter tyres so I was thinking about a good all season tyre and a tin of tyre weld…
Good idea or not? What are others running? I am sure more people on here have BM’s?

Cant help you on what tyres are best for your bm, but I would certainly ditch the run flats you will get a better ride without them plus normal tyres will save you and at least punctures can be repaired.
We once had a nail in a brand new run flat that was 1 day old, they would not repair it so had to bin it and get another, what a waste of 200, i vowed never to haverun flats again.

Would I need to check witth insurance about removing them?

Possibly, always worth checking, it did not affect our premuim, however I used the car daily with the new tyres on for months before I remembered to check the insurance.

I have a 5 series touring that did have run flats on. I swapped to regular tyres and everything was better. Firstly they cost a fraction of the run flats, the ride is better, they are quieter, they grip better. Its all good!
