RS14s issues - causes found!

RS14s issues causes found!
I know a lot of guys have had issues with the RS14s with excess pad transfer leading to damaged discs. Well I was the latest victim but I have found the cause. There are two types of RS14 pads those with a curved edge to match the bells and those with a straight edge. The straight edge are the issues they make contact with the rotors too close to the bell and on mine even made contact! The rotor is not designed for this and is thinner in this area. The issue is particularly bad on the larger 295mm Aps. I have had to bin my front rotors after changing the front pads and doing one trackday!

The part number you need is E158714010

Excellent - thanks Jamie

I just trashed a set of 295s because of this. I am not sure its the complete reason but it did not help. Thats why i have been asking everywhere about peoples experiences with the rs14. I was not sure if i should re order the rs 14s with my replacement discs.

Just to confirm Jamie, you have used the correct rs 14 pad with the 295mm disc and had no problems (since you got your SC) and then replaced the pad with the wrong one and immediately got problems? Is that correct?
