Roofless

I know I’m opening myself up for some pi$$take here but here goes anyway :stuck_out_tongue:

Where would be the best place to source a softop conversion for the exige? Not worried about the local runs without a roof but I’m planning a trip down into Italy and open top driving would be pretty nice, did it before in a tintop car and remember thinking the sound as much as anything would be epic with no roof. Think sunny mountain passes and tunnel basts!

Braced for the barrage…

Cheers.

There’s a soft top on eBay then you just need the grommits for the rear panel which are 6 from any lotus dealer and that’s it

Im sure you will get some abuse from the roof off haters!

The front windscreen already has holes for the soft top bars to fit into so all you need is the rear ones putting in. You can get the parts from Bell & Colville onnlie for about 10 then just dremmel out the holes and fix them in.

The expensive & hard bit is finding a soft top @ reasonable money, im ashamed to say it but I love having my roof off occasionally in the summer

See here for a guide…

I got mine off ebay, its a vx220 as they also fit fine.

Thanks chaps. Will hunt one down.

I’m fully expecting some abuse from the gravy drinking club…

Just sold my softop at the weekend!

Never really used it tbh as i’m not fussed about it been a convertable…I only ever took the roof of it was a really hot day (rare in this country!!)

As already said you just need the grommits fitting in the back of the rollbar cover. You’ll need either a short lotus elise roof, or a vx220 one.

As above. Ensure the soft top comes with the 2 roof supposrt bars. Fitting the rear grommets takes about an hour.
I suggest you put locktight on the screws when refitting .
My roof opened up at 130 down the Hanger straight last week!

…and if it doesn’t come with the support bars, drop me a PM as i have a spare set.

He can’t say anything anymore now he’s driving around in a Nissan Juke…

I’m thinking of going roofless occasionally this summer. I don’t want to go down the softtop route though. Does anybody know of a shower proof cover I can throw over the car whilst it’s parked?
