Been lurking around here for ages actually, reading up on the S1 exige and engine transplants etc etc.
Now that the decision is made i am on the hunt for an S1 exige with plans for a winter engine transplant. I have been searching for pictures of the roof scoop, i have seen the extended ones available through eliseparts but i suppose i am asking if you could in conjunction with a motorsport engine cover get enough airflow in there to sufficiently cool an intercooler, can you cut away any of the std scoop to make it larger, then what is the ducting when the roofs closed?
I have played with this a little…probably better off using the scoop for air intake and putting the intercooler or charge cooler in the side pod…
I dont think there is really enough air feed from the roof scoop to be effective+ you may also get a bit of heat soak…
here’s a pic of mine…

i like the idea the roof scoop used as a direct feed to the airbox. a much more fitting job for the roof scoop.
(rather than an air cooling duct for the motor cover hinge as in the standard car… )
what is the cooler for in front of the RH side intake, Oil?
and the bit of garden hosepipe on the LH side of the engine, is that just a breather pipe?
Mine actually pressureises the air intake…
when i first installed it the boost raised by 6psi at the top end… of course I had to back it off again but generally it is more responsive and it doesn’t feel like the turbo is having to work as hard…
