Gian
Where abouts in the UK are Emerald and what, other than the grub, does/will the day consist of?
John

Hi Mate , emerald is past norwich

http://www.emeraldm3d.com/

check their website for directions. Its a respected company and Dave walker has good knowledge of the k series engine. Mainly organising a rolling road to get bhp and torque figures before doing some mods. Foodwise i think its just tea/coffee and some sandwiches and snacks laid on. Mainly elise going at moment, if interested let me know soon as only 20 places max available

Gian
Blimey mate, that’s about 1/2 million miles away, maybe more, from the Madchester area . Maybe on a nice summers weekend I’ll get down there, bit far this time of year so I’ll give this one a miss but thanks for the posting and I’m sure you’ll get a good take up.

Just did it from Aberdeen…

Uldis
Man, that’s some journey, your my new Exige hero.
[email protected]

And it was shite weather too!

And… (pay attention)… I slept about 5 hours IN the car!

And… I’m 6’3"

I’m my new hero too!

BTW, your email doesn’t work…

I have sent Uldis my last VHPD power chart from Emerald, showing a little bit more power, but slightly more lumpy in the torque curve.

Perhaps he will attach it here as a comparison?

Needless to say, this was a Dave Andrews ported head and Dave Walker mapping…

Mike, mine looks very similar powerwise but with a better torque curve
laters,
B

What, you mean like mine?

Post it, man.

Yeh… come on… post up Bruno

nosy people…you lot
Uldis, no, I mean like Mike’s one, haven’t seen yours
Rox, haven’t the faintest idea how to post it here…
laters,
B

Mine and Mike’s are here, in my rebuild page at the very bottom.

You could put it in a Bookatrack page of yours or send it to me and I’ll post it together with ours.

all right then…gona mail it to ya
laters,
B

Ok, have uploaded Bruno’s chart in the link above.
Very interesting, although the power comes earlier, produces still 206 BHP, besides, it’s very linear.
What exhaust are you using? Throttle bodies?

cheers, mate , using original Tbs with Geary’s back box. next mod is going to be Jenvey’s with Bernards air box…
supposed to be very healthy for some more torque…
well, Steve has done it

How’s about my last K series then ?

Done over 2 years ago, sorry I can’t find the original Emerald printout so you’ll have to trust me on this. Steve Butts will verify though.

Bernard

Very good

What were the specs then?

Supply of base engine for modification (500)
Supply of VVC head for modification (300)
32.5 mm Paul Ivey Inlet Valves
28.5 mm Paul Ivey Exhaust valves
Vernier pulleys (pair)
VVC conversion kit
Uprated valve springs
Solid lifters
DTH throttle bodies (pair)
Auto-Teknix air box kit
1227 cams
Steel valve caps
Inlet valve guides
Valve stem seals
Gaskets etc
Arrow rods
VHPD crank
Forged pistons
Race bearings
New cylinder head bolts
VHPD liners
Steel oil pump gear
VVC cam cover
Dual coils
Spark plugs
Head porting (done by myself with DVA guidance)
Fuel & ignition mapping, precision cam timing
Emerald ECU
EBD 4-2-1 exhaust
Cat replacement pipe
Motobuild steel flywheel
Balance, flywheel, clutch, crank, pistons, rods by VibrationFree
AP Competion clutch
Building engine

Total cost would have been 8338.60 if I had used all new parts, some were secondhand so it worked out to be nearer 7000. This includes an allowance of 300 labour for the build and 450 for the headwork.

Bernard

Which is not bad at all.
The main difference then would be your airbox (amd of course, Jenveys)

Pity I can’t use a bigger box because i would lose the “boot”, remember, I don’t trailer my car and drive long distances.
Besides, the opening on the Elise seems to be slightly bigger than the Exige.
Will still play around and find a solution myself.
