What ECU you after?
I know a fantastic DTA mapper and supplier in Ardrossan, Scotland?
The omex is and Kpro are not far off a grand with the VAT. Then add the loom say 500 for the low end, then consumables and labour. 2k aint bad really DTA S60 will also run the K20 but its alll still a few K all in. Engine swaps are never cheap, its amazing how much sundries can cost, plus people need to earn a crust. As for home made loom, I wouldn’t leccy probs can be a prat to sort.
EDIT just re read the quote that is very cheap with mapping. Mapping can be a killer. I thought you were getting clockwise to do it?
Yep, i think my contact can fit and map for about 2k, he has his own setup etc. Has done a few racecars, and a lot of lotus k’s but i know him within the Honda circle
Let me know if you want any details and i can put you in contact
would like any contact i can get. loom is 700 quip plus vat, clockwise will now only supply not fit, he mentioned an ecu / board that is 350 quid…but… you need to sort the gearbox side out…reverse etc. i expected to pay upto 800 for ecu if i did not go clockwise route but the price of the loom has shocked me in all honesty. ill have to get it to a certain stage…ie engine in ready with exhaust on…then save up 500 to reach the 2-2.5k bill to get it on road. never mind just means waiting an etra month

If you actually tell us what ECU you are going to use you may well find someone has a loom you can copy . . . . . . . . . .
By reverse - do you mean the reverse interlock?
Just sent you a private message with contact details for the guy i know
any ecu under 900 quid! and yes the gear locking thingi. again help well apreciated

get a clockwise efi, copy my loom as a starting point and pay to have it bench mapped.
The interlock is easy - just dont bother had mine for over 5 years and have managed fine without it.
Whatever your original budget, double it, as for 2k all in sound slike a bargain, but they you pays peanuts you gets monkeys and all that good stuff!
easy!! had another 2k offer. using dtm and what sounds like a v v good loom…thats from a person recommended on this post…the guy was a great help.
now trying to weigh up the options.
1k for ecu…choice of a few.
then either roll in out loom made and all set up for 1k
or see if someone has a written/picture diagram of their loom that i can have copied by either my good friend who is a sparky and since birth has played with cars…ecus etc…this would be the cheapest option but with the most risk
next find an independent auto electrician who is up to speed with dtm omex etc ecus…
or buy an off the shelf loom and fit it myself.
even though im not electrically minded th whole loom thing doesnot scare me to much…if i had a picture etc to go off then it would be just to buy the appropriate bits and littereally join the dots upp which is why i might let my sparky mate do it.
again anymore tips or bits of infor or recomendations of auto electricians or pics, diagrams of their looms etc etc would be great

Hey, is that Henry ? He really is awesome! Hes very helpful and is a perfectionist.
He’s created everything from a Custom ITB setup using ITB’s off a Honda CBR Bike, right through to silly race cars etc!
Good luck in what you choose!
Try stark automotive. They sell a kit with the DTA ecu including a base map and can supply a loom for sure.
great help again thanks…yeah henry, top guy very helpfull.
there’s the sunspeed kit too
but the point is what are you exactly expected (after financial consideration) ?
let me tell you my recent experience
i lived in France and drive the only road legal elise honda here (AFAIK)
my car is an Erise with a K20a JDM, one of the first converted by Blink Motorsport, AFAIK it’s not the link up kit they are using know,
i have some issues with the electrical jam wich look like an uggly mess of wires and tape everywhere
upset and on a first thought i was about to change everything for a brand new homemade loom with DTA S60 ECU, it’s not the cheapest solution but it will be made by me (and friends) and at least i will understand the eletrical draws and scheme
on a second thought, as i am not an genious in car mapping and electricity, i will simply change the ancient loom for a new one made by Simon or Maidstone, wich are serious and qualified, in order to have a common bases with most of the guys running K20A.
it’s the best reliable and cheap solution, exotic or home made stuff are just what they are…unique and a nightmare when you experienced troubles.
try to speak with Simon on Seloc about that
good advice.
Henry did some good work on my old S2000, throttle bodies etc
