Road tyres

I am thinking of getting another set of tyres for normal daily use as i am currently on R888. What you guys recommend? T1R, AD08?

I use tr1s. I know many people hate them but, they are the correct size, cheap, available (to order) at most tyre centres, have plenty of water clearing channels and last forever. If you are using up their capability you should not be driving that fast on the road.

Still available

I found the T1R erm how do you say it erm…

FUCKING DANGEROUS

A great car deserves great tyres I have had several sets of 888s and can’t fault them wet or dry.

It should have A038s but never could afford to try em

I found the R888 aqua planning a lot in the rain when i m doing like 60mph on the motorway, it seems the car always want to slide in rain, could that be because my tyres getting old since is 4 years old already?

I run AD08’s after a mate with an S2 N/A recommended them. I haven’t got a bad word for them for a road tyre, though I’ve not tried them on track. Wet weather performance is good, standing water dispersion is very good.
I found the original tyres had gone too hard for track use and I never got the cornering forces the car should generate. Allied to that, there wet weather performance was distinctly meh at best.

So a vote for AD08’s from me Sam.

If it’s mainly for road use with a bit of track use : AD08R’s.

Thanks guys for all your inputs!

I use Toyo R1R’s and would recommend them.

same here - they’re good for road use IMO,however, haven’t tried them on the track.

Have them on the Elise and seem good and weren’t bad at Croft the other month either.

I run R1Rs on my road tyres, not a patch on the R888s, but they are old and hard, so probably not the best comparison. Still miles better than the T1R though.
