Just back from Vegas, hired a couple of convertible Mustangs including a Hertz Shelby and put several thousand miles on them, taking in Route 66, Grand Canyon, Hoover Dam, Mohave Desert, Red Rock Canyon

Looks like and excellent trip. I am driving from San Fran to Vegas - LA - San Diego and I was looking at the Hertz fun collection the other day. Can someone post or PM me the approximate cost for their trip ?? How did you get on with the luggage space ??

Thanks Paul

Nice!

We did a similar trip a few years back. Bryce Canyon was amazing!

Ian

Thanks for that, I’m there next week for 10 days, any comments /advice gratefully recieved.

I loved the Hoover Dam too.

Last month we started in SF and went to Yosemite, Death Valley, Vegas, Monument Valley, Palm Springs and back to UK via LA. Awesome but 2200 miles in total, didnt look that far on the map.
Steve

I went SF to Yosemite, to death valley to vegas to Cambria (just north of LA) to Carmel to SF. Easy round trip with grand canyon etc done from vegas by helicopter.

Yosemite was my favorite part, simply stunning.

Have to agree on Yosemite - lake district on steriods!

Have hired a Mustang from Hertz Vancouver late AUguest - will I get Shelby do you think!?!

Excellent description of Yosemite mate. Shelby I understand only available at some locations (not at SF anyway) I only found out when returned std mustang coupe to LA where there are loads of Shelbys parked up in both coupe and convertables.
Steve

Damn. Oh well. I am suspecting they will give me a V6 Mustang and I will be very dissapointed, but we’ll see. Better than a Buick I suppose!

Even the V6 is better than the usual rental stuff but no ball of fire and runs out of steam at 100 (i assume this would be the case of course)

Planning to do Denver-Vegas-LA in a GT-H 500 next year. Anyone got recommendations for places to visit and are the cars autos only or is there a manual option? Also do they have permanent TC or can you actually use the performance?
Cheers Jamie
