My car does not have the touring pack, and the G/F is a bit sick of how noisy it is if we ever use it to go any sort of distance.
I’ve decieded to try retro fit the carpeted floor/sills as fitted in the touring pack and a tiny bit if sound insulation - I know it will add a little bit of weight, but if it stops her moaning then I’m a happy man!
Looking on Bell & colvill, I’ve pulled off the following…
Most of the above looks self explanatory, but was a little unsure if the drivers footwell and passenger footwell carpet is behind where the pedals and footrest are??
Anybody else done this, or know of how easy it is to fit?
I’m going to be taking all of mine out when I get mine back, so I will get it weighed. I’ve also removed all the boot carpets as well, my car is going on a diet
I don’t really get the removing carpet to be honest. For a road/track car I would much rather have them in and the carpets must weigh virtually nothing anyway. The touring pack does add a big slab of heavy sound deadening behind the bulkhead which could be replaced for something much much lighter though.
I’m planning on installing light weight sound insulation under the carpet and behind the bulk head - the carpet was only really to finish it off. Weight wise it shouldn’t really add anything, but I’d rather do this and go on a diet to save a couple of kg than have the missis complaining.
