Results from first OBD2 scan - ExigeS 220

Hi Everyone

Just been out and done a scan using my OBD2 reader to make sure everything is as it should be - got a few quick questions…

My car is (as far as I know) a standard 220 ‘S’ with TRD Airbox and Larini Sport exhaust, no other mods. Tesco 99 fuel

1 - Max advance under full throttle/high RPM 7krpm+ was 27 degrees - normal or should it pull more?
2 - Max absolute throttle position was 53.7%??? This was with my foot flat into the floor - is this normal??
3 - Intake temps… when driving gently in 6th these were about 30 degrees, when max RPM in 2nd and 4rd rise to about 50 or 55 degrees. I presume this is normal? Ambient temp today is about 20 ish.

Cheers

Will.

About to order a scanner myself so would be interesting to compare a bit later.

Just had a look at one of my scan’s, but a true comparison can not be made as mine is a N/A with a Katana SC remapped by Sinclairs.

Max advance 43.5
Max throttle 78.8%
Intake temp max 13c ( sensor is before the SC )

A standard Lotus Exige S map only allows partial throttle which is why a simple ECU remap either by Lotus or an aftermarket vendor can bump up the power to 260 horses

Never seen more than 80% throttle even on a remapped ecu.

What are these scanners you speak off? any linkys please?

Looks good. There seem to be a few around at 20, what is the difference? I am guessing yours does more?

I paid a bit more for the better software but yes the actual plug in bit is quite cheap

Does anyone know the actual inlet temp that the ignition starts to get retarded at due to heat soak on the standard 220?

I cant remember the actual inlet temp but if you have a look on elise talk and do a search on heat soak, you will need loads of time to read some of those threads but there is lots of useful tests that those crazy americans have carried out so you should certainly find your answer.

I would bet its in the 40’s degrees C.

Really? That low??

I was monitoring the other day using OBD2 a gentle run in 20c ambient air temps and the inlet temp spiked at 55c at high RPM in 2nd and 3rd gears!

I know ford and vauxhall start to pull ignition at 40 degrees, remember they run extra advance at cool charge temps, so 55 degrees although not ideal, is not the end of the world.
