Respray cost ?

Just looking at some options, the car is fully Armourfended, but could do with removing as it has taken a few hits, what are typical costs for respraying Krypton (in full).

Do I need to re-mortgage ?

Can’t you get away with just a front clam respray matey ?

What’s the point? I thought you were a trackdayer, not some polishing/detailing poofta?

The reality is that Exiges/Elises are very prone to stonechipping, & if you worry about it, you’ll never drive the car (just like a certain Geordie we know!).

Tidy it up after a couple of years, or if you decide to sell beforehand, & in the meantime spend your money on trackdays

I’m not sure what I want really… if the protection were to be removed I’m pretty sure that the paintwork would be in pretty good nick and as the car will be on the track most of time, any further stone chipping would be minimal (I hope).
There is one ‘spider/star’ very slight impact mark on the rear clam, but apart from that the paintwork appears good.

I’m assuming re- Armourfending would cost 450ish, but if a full respray were to cost 850 (please, don’t laugh… I have no idea) - then I would go down the respray route for a much fuller fresher looking car.

… bit of both actually

A FULL respray would be thousands matey… I’d guess at 3k ?

It’ll only get worse when you take it on track, so I personally wouldn’t worry about it.

If it is a garage queen you won’t want to push it as hard on track anyway !

Go see Wayne at Sinclaire for a quote, the did the front of my S1 Sport190 and I was very impressed with the work. I sadly have no idea how much it was as it was paid for by Parcelforce, a clumsy driver reversed into it…

errmmmmmm… 3k for a FULL respray - sod that.

Have to have a re-think…

Ade - spoke with Sinclaires and Wayne is winging his way back from the States (almost as we speak).

I know he is which means I get more excited by the hour

Cough POOFTA Cough

Stephen

Odd bits of suspension were renewed, therefore geo was required. Martin & Steve have set it up the same as on their own car, & others they have converted. Just hope it’s as good as Ollie’s set up, but I’ve no reason to think otherwise

It needs a few bits of paintwork touching up, & the front splitter some filler, but I suppose I’ll have to wait until you can get Fulton McKay (aka ABT) off your back

Good try, Tim me old marra

Paint is required to the nearside front wheelarch, which has a chunk of fibreglass missing, as does the front splitter - due to my clumsiness. Both areas are presently held together with tape, so genuine repair work is needed

See “black taped bit” at bottom of splitter next to wheelarch:

Or have you photoshopped RussT’s mota

No - I’m crap at jigsaw puzzles - always forget where the pieces should go

I was quoted 2k for a full respray by a Lotus Specialist.

I was also quoted 3k-4k by specialised paintwork in Reading, it really depends on what you want.

I’d be tempted to get the Viper Green/Black 997 GT3RS paint job…

Now I reckon that would look super cool!!!

I quite fancy something like this:

Paint or car, not fussed which

I have driven a GT Street. Very impressive car.

I took a pic of that 911 just the other day

What day did you take that?

Tech 9 are a reseller for my company Simtis, so we were on the stand Sat and Sunday

hmm, seeing that second picture, now I’m not so sure. I think the black stripe on the wing mirror might be a little over the top
