What is a resonator valve?
A type of restrictor fitted in the induction trunking, before the air gets to the throttle bodies, to keep the induction noise down cars to pass the SUV test prior to registration. IIRC they were supposed to open at speeds above 30mph. In view of their detrimental effect on performance, most were removed by dealers at the point of delivery or the first service.
