Hi,
Just returned from watching the Mille Miglia and some muppet bashed my car - ironically whilst in the hotel car park; the one day that I wasn’t driving. No details left, unfortunately.
The damage is a side-plate sized bash to the n/s rear quarter - the gell coat is cracked and crazed, but seems to be structurally ok.
I’m based in Nottingham, can anyone recommend a decent repairer for my beloved 240R? (I am prepared to travel) Also, if I don’t get it repaired immediately, will the body work suffer further damage from water ingress?
Ta, Peter
PS the Stelvio is still shut, but the Ofenpass (Pass del Fuorn) is lovely…
http://www.citycentrecarcare.co.uk/ in brum is one of only 2 official lotus approved repairers in the country IIRC. Bit pricey though.
I’d be tempted to leave it till someone else drives into it then claim on their insurance.
i have a number for a chap in the north west if you can get up here…not only has he repaired a number of s1s s2s vxs and tvrs but he also has a very good friendship with the main man who saw all the tvr fibreglass builds from day 1 over 40 years ago, hence he is a master at repairing fibre glass bodies etc. if you would like his number please pm me.
If you’re prepared to travel to the Northants area Normandales do an excellent job on Lotuses and are reasonably priced.

I have just noticed a place called Option One, near where I work, close to Junction 5 of the M5 (Nr Bromsgrove).
No recommendations I’m afraid, but the web site looks interesting and they aren’t more than 60-70 miles from Nottingham?
