Have managed to find myself an Elise roof and rails but as I haven’t had roof of the Exige yet (only 10 days old) I am unsure what other little ‘bits and bobs’ I need. Search reveals little so I would be grateful for your advise on further parts required and it would really help if someone had part numbers/approx. cost and best place to get them from. Thanks kimbo
Beware, removal of Exige roof has been shown to cause :
- Impotence
- Flatulence
- Bad-breath
- Dandruff
- Loads of other anti-social coniditons.
At least that’s what Pesky told me
Don’t do it - there is a reason your Exige did not come with the ‘bits and bobs’ necessary to take the roof off - it’s because that would make it an Elise
Only joking mate - although seriously don’t take the roof off, it looks daft (imho).
Too late … roof being delivered next Friday … bound to rain next weekend - didn’t want to get caught out. kimbo
ps Already have those ‘problems’ with the roof on.
Prepare for a flaming!
This should help

To take the roof off you just need a size 40 Torx socket available from Halfords. Removing the roof is a 2 minute job. If you are going to fit the soft top the only parts you need are couple of plastic sockets to go in the roll bar cover. Useful guide here:
I bought a soft top and all the bits when I got my Exige in May last year, but have just sold the soft top having never used it. I was surprised to find that I did not miss the wind in the hair thing that much even after 3 years of Elise ownership, but I have had the roof off a few times on warm summer evenings - it is nice to have the option at least. To my eyes an S2 Exige with the roof off looks fine, so don’t listen to all those S1 ludites

Beat you to it!
Beat you to it!
How’s the zaust bedding in Ed?
went for a run through to Anstruther and was sounding shweet! starting to pop and bang nicely, and the run along the bypass was much better. Those allan key efforts are rattling away but new ones arrive on monday along with my dremel! cant wait! cheers ed
Has anyone with a supercharged exige taken the roof off yet ??
I now people have taken them off standard S2 exiges, but the roof air vent is just aesthetic.
I think you have a Exige S Kimbo therefore the roof vent feeds the intercooler ?? not sure what effect it will have remvong the roof as the opening is very small then and will be in very turbulent air ??

Thanks for the help - I couldn’t find this when searching. All I think I now require are the two black sockets to go in the roll bar cover. Does anybody know where to get these from (local dealer no help) and/or part number? Thanks again - kimbo
Handbook says that performance may not be quite as good but I’ve read quite a few posts (by ExigeS owners) where they say there is no apparent difference in performance. Suprised nobody has not come up with a scoop to replace roof vent when roof removed. kimbo

Yeah but at least I don’t have to look at it over there and can happily leave you to your folly!
If you are taking the roof off you also need one of these to remove the Exige stickers

Agreed, this is only of interest to a few S2 owners who post on this forum, so keep it there please. Thanks in anticipation.
