4 hrs? Crikey. That’s how crap I am!
In fairness, now I’ve done it, I think I could do it in a single weekend. I would think 12 hrs I could do it in.

Don’t worry about the time, it’s done and sorted.
Have done a few, and been doing it for a while. No doubt I would suck at your job!
This is how it ends…
One more panel…
The last bolt…
Stabilo’s back!
I went out for a celebratory drive for a few miles and this experience has changed the way I see the car. I understand it more and I was thinking about the rad, hoses, cooling etc ad I was driving
I felt more empowered if I were to have other issues. Strangely a great experience, OK, I spent 500 or so on rad, hoses, towing post, coolant, spare fasteners. Not mega money and a good learning experience. I’m not sure what lotus charge to do this job but I wouldn’t like to think another was doing it. All those panels at risk, all those screws that could get dropped down gaps…
Related to this, can someone just explain what the fans are attached to? Are they attached to the rad or to a frame next to it?
I was sat in traffic the other day and things started to get a little hot, then the fans kicked in with the most horrendous noise. Pulled over and had a look only to find both fans sat ontop of each other at the bottom of the crash box gradually mincing each other up - so something somewhere has catastrophically failed/rusted. Anyone got any photos showing it?
Cheers
Jonny
Thanks - not sure what holds them in on the cabin side but looks like part number 3 is bu**ered at a guess.
That isn’t a completely clear link provided there because that is assuming you have a non ac equipped vehicle. If your vehicle has ac then the fans will not attach to the radiator as depicted above. They will attach to the ac condenser.
If you need any help, message me.
Oh that doesn’t sound good, they mount to the AC rad if you have it, the AC rad is made of cheese! the only thing holding mine together is the charge cooler pre rad! My fans are now on a top mount kit from Proalloy, they now sit on top of everything else and you can see them through the grills in front of the windscreen.
