Remote Stat and A/C

I’m still not sure if it is possible to install the remote stat kit to an S1 with air conditioning. Has anyone succesfully done it and is it repeatable?

Sorry if I’m being a numpty. I know the subject has been discussed at length but I don’t ever recall anyone reporting a successful installation on a A/C car.

As far as my research went - the Elsieparts type remote stat is designed to fit in the piping where you have the heater valve for the AC and so it doesnt work out.

However if you go for the PRRT stat idea then this fits in the circuit on the other side and thus shoudl be quite possible with AC cars - in fact I think … that on Carlo’s website it shows how its been done - I will try to find a link.

I did it on my car last year and it worked fine but as andy said has to be a PRT stat.

Thank you both very much. I’ll get it done in that case.

There are three spring rates on the PRT,s and they are colour coded the one recomended for the exige is the grey one with the weakest return spring and an 82 degree stat. Rover part no. PEL500150. Chris Foulds is fitting one on my S1 as we speak. Good info on SELOC,s chat and in their Tech Wiki area.Good luck.
