I have found that the rubber boot that connects the intercooler shroud to the roof duct on my Cup 260 has slipped off at the roof end. has anyone got any advice on how to re fit it. It’s proving to be a real pain to get the rubber bellow to stretch over the duct long enough to re fit the metal clamp and tighten up again.
I assume that the bellow has come off during engine movement.
I found that it was easier to fit to the scoop end first, then to the intercooler. (Doný tighten too much as the intercooler shroud can collapse - but on the other hand you may have a reinforced one anyway)
I personally would take the intercooler off first to give you some more room, it is not a big job, maybe 20 mins. then obviously fit the roof end first, might be worth getting someone to hold the other side in place as you tighten the band around it.
You can also do away with it and fit the 2- Eleven IC shroud and some 4 inch ducting to the side pods.
Having just done this myself, I actually found it considerably easier to remove the intercooler and bellows, and fit the bellows to the intercooler first, then offer the whole lot up to the duct. So much so, that I feel I ended up with a better fit than was achieved in the factory!
