Montreal is a FANTASTIC city and environs. One place to visit! I lived there for 5 years whilst at Uni… and did lots of motorsport including ICE RACING!!!
There were 2 classes… rubber to ice!!! and Studs to Ice!
The former was a hoot… very little grip and once you got going you used the snow banks and other cars to help stop and corner!
Studs was bloody fast! Easy up to 80 mph and rather like driving on gravel! A very smooth and progressive slide so lots of steering by throttle! This was ‘drifting’ 20 years before the Japs gave it that name!
