Looks as though my battery is on its last legs. It works just fine but has been expelling some of its fluid, so I might aswell replace it.
I’ve searched on here and the Odyssey PC680 seems to come up a lot, only problem is I have no facility to trickle charge it, and it seems that is what the Odyssey likes best, right?
Any other recommendations to replace my existing Moura 063 intelligent battery?
I thought I may get confused with the 680 or 25, typical!
I note that the 25 doesn’t have ‘post’ type fixings, which could cause me the hassle of having to change my connectors. Any others out there with the fixing posts?
Chris, is that the OEM on your cup? Does it mind being left running the immobiliser/alarm for 2-3weeks at a time without trickle charge?
You can get the post as an additional part for these batterys. Really expensive for the proper ones, but there are other available. Give us a call if you get stuck
I have Chris’s previous Exige, when it was delivered by Murray Lotus ( who I bought it from) , it had a dead battery , I replaced it with an Odyssey PC 680, I did have to relook at the post /,fitting.
This was done last month, so Chris will be able to post how old the ( lightweight) battery was, that I replaced.
I do tricke charge it , because that’s what I do ,with cars that only come out in the sun !!

Any chance of a current photo of your 680 in place? Interested to see if it has the cage / how its connected / how its held in place.
I’ve found the battery for around 95, and the cage for about 35 [/quote]
I can’t do the photo thingy at the moment, but the battery is fitted on it’s side , facing into the boot space. I just replaced the dead ( lightweight) battery that Chris had fitted when he owned the car in circa 2007 .
When I replaced my 680 and wanted the 25 I was informed they are one and the same thing internally by the supplier and they just had different stickers, even the price is the same
I’ve always found these guys (Malcolm) really helpful.
They have always given a SELOC discount so I see no reason why not to try a price match http://www.msar-safety.com/products.asp?s=Batteries and Accessories&c=1
Do many people run the Extreme 25? Notice the spec states 220 CCA whereas the next size up the Extreme 30 has 450 CCA for only an additional 2kg. Not sure if the longer body will fit though?
I’ve always had a cranking issue with mine and like to know the power is there for several attempts to start on a cold morning.

The ‘old’ battery was a carbon (suprise suprise) Braille battery - must have been around 3 years old but was fooking expensive
Have a look at the Odyssey PC925. I have one of these on my Scooby. That is never on trickle charge and has never failed to start the car. It is physically bigger than the PC680 (Odyssey 25) but much smaller than a standard battery and it has better cranking etc etc than the 25.
We can get the Odyssey 25 (PC680) and the larger PC925.

The 680 and the 25 fit the Lotus lightweight cage - I guess the 30 would be too big but maybe you have a different cage/setup
I agree with Steve about preferring to know that the battery has plenty of life in in it, particularly with doing regular Euro road trips, & a reasonable annual mileage.

The 680 was standard on my cup car. It doesnt’t last long if I don’t isolate the electrics as the plumbed in FE and other gubbins soon suck it dry. I left it on once and the battery was flat after 2days - hense I bought the 25.
If your after a good trickle charger I rec the Cartek Units - used one for years on various sporty cars
