Rebuilding my CUP260

The only

Well, a small twinscrew will do the job. Allowing 2,5 bar it will be enough for 600 whp, with low end torque

yeah…

There is a

I don’t find 55 C (@400 whp) to troublesome on track with a out of the box chargecooler system. And changing the Supercharger one to one was rather straight forward.

Obviously this question upsets you. We have different taste and I find Rotrex on the bottom of my list of ways to gain useful whp

you going to remake it with a higher performance core?

Oooooh…

Dude I’m trying to be nice here, inclusive, and take an active interest. A simple ‘no it’s fine as it is’ would have done.

Dude…

I don’t know if you’re being intentionally antagonistic or if there’s some kind of cultural incompatibility going on?

We’re all interested in your build,…less so in your apparently pedantic sniping attitude to anyone who attempts to contribute to your thread.

Not doubting you, but will be interested to see how you make the 260 Cup intercooler without mods work with +400 hp. Care to share any of your thoughts?

If you have a bit of a search on here, you will see loads of people try, some finger in the air testing, some testing that was as good as could be done without a closed dyno cell - including some back to back testing of different intercoolers/ducts, both in and out - and some best guess comparisons of a number of different coolers at Spa, on a +30 degree C day. Bottom line was that none really could cope with track work, hot weather and standard charger/pulley. And yes, I know that the standard charger is beyond its efficiency boundaries as standard.

What is the date on your fuel tank by the way? As someone I know has been offered a similar one from the rally project, but the seller is being evasive about the build date, and very selective on the pictures that they are sending through.

Sorry if I upset you again. But realy, you do get upset just like R…

But please back to topic, what is your boost target? And what kind of IAT are you expecting pre and after intercooler.

Look guys…

Thanks for taking the time to explain your position.

Please keep in mind this is a relatively tiny but friendly forum built pretty much exclusively of guys with a shared passion for the cars…but inevitably a large spectrum of talent in the spannering and driving department.

Being a discussion forum people ask questions as part of you know,…discussing things. The expired bag-tank is a prime example. You’ve made a calculated risk based on your experience that you’re happy to run an expired tank. Great,…but unless you’re up front, then you gotta expect people to ask questions and even disagree with your assessment.

Sorry bud, but explaining your narcissistic tendencies does not give you the right to be rude, patronising and disrespectful around here. It’s quite simple really; if you don’t want anyone to discuss your project, don’t post detail about it.

100% agree with Benja. We are all friends here & good manners are expected.

Look forward to seeing your project progress over the coming period.

I have tried to read this thread and just extract the facts without the various emotions, but the OP’s recent tirade has killed that.

As a professional engineer, I find his statements insulting, patronising and downright rude. Is it any wonder the engineering world has so much difficulty attracting new recruits when this is what appears in public?

There is never any excuse, let alone justification, for such a pathetic display of self-righteous nonsense; like most professions engineering requires good, clear communication and the ability to engage others.

Sorry but if you can’t be bothered to be polite then - as my mother always taught me - say nothing.

Go away, build your car and when (if?) you ever learn any manners then come back and tell us all about it.

Until then, shut up.

Thanks

Come on, we’re a friendly bunch be nice. We might learn something, who knows you may too. Stick with the positives

If you’re pioneering something on here then expect the negative posts buddy …
In time some of em come round when things are proved beyond any doubt.
I was blasted 7 years ago for fitting an LSD but sure enough most have followed.
I stuck with air to air intercoolers and had resounding success.
I stuck to Lotus software and proved it gave a reliable 320bhp.
The gearbox is a bitch tho … Good luck on that , it generates so much heat it’s best to try and swap it for another if your engineering skills are good.
I’m reading your thread with interest cos I like someone who tries something different even when most give them a hard time.
Remember that at one time everyone thought the world was round till they were educated ?
Well it can be the same here !
Just don’t go overboard on your retaliation or you’ll get banned lol

And would you believe that one person on here who should know better actually believed that the Boeing 747 was designed using CAD computer programming … BACK IN THE 1960’s lol …
I’d have loved to see THAT computer
