I looked for a Wheel with boss centred connections too but just added paddles to my steering wheel in the end, i did find a wireless steering wheel though…

I have very long cable on my system that needs shortening as it can get caught, or just not connected properly so you need to think about the ECU’s response to the cable falling out!! Have had fun and games in that scenario.

I have given up with the steering wheel connected by a cable … after repairing the multi pin connector 5 times it gets boring …
Some factors
- The standard steering lock means it has to have quite some length to allow lock to lock movements off the track so you end up with a reasonable “loop droop”
- Anyone with a big foot will put it into the loop at least once when entering into or exiting the cabin
- If the loop droop is not enough then you will put a lot of strain on the connector when you go on full lock
Answer is to always remove the steering wheel and park it somewhere - but you have to educate anyone who gets in the cabin …
