Well after 16k miles and a lot of track days both my inner rear towlinks are worn (wobbly wheel syndrome)
So I’m in the market for new ones…
Is there any benefit of using an uprated one as the S already has the inners in double sheer?
If there is a benefit what do people feel is the best solution?
Well after I got up off the floor when Lotus told me the inner tow links are 80 each plus vat my need to find a better solution has increased. So options so far…
1, replace the worn items with Lotus ones
2, replace with New Lotus sport kit
3, replace with an aftermarket kit, but which one?
4, try and get higher quality rose joints rather than the (chocolate) ones Lotus supply.
On my Exige S I recently replaced the inner tow link joints with the Lotus items. They are indeed 80 each. The replacements do seem superior quality and slightly diferent design to the old items thou. My car is MY06. Maybe they have upgraded them since then…?
The inner toe spherical or rose joints went on my old S at 14K miles, luckily just inside the waranty so Lotus covered it. The replacement Lotus items have a rubber boot to help protect the fragile rose joint.
New car has same rubber boot as standard.
Still havnt heard of anyone finding satisfactory replacement for the lotus item…seems to be an unusal size.
