just had the exige serviced last monday by HHC i have to say they did a great job.Two probs found though, one being the high level brake light one LED not working the other being both rear toe links worn.Seems as though this is a problem they are finding at the moment.Car is just out of warranty by two months, but lotus have agreed to go halves. This can lead to uneven tyre wear if not sorted and change the camber.Has anyone here had the same probs.
Just had mine serviced two days ago, 13000mls & two trackdays, they say there is a little play and that by the next service it will need looking at.

hi Gav i think they fit upgraded ones with rubber covers, these are fitted as standard now.
Mine were replaced in February. Car’s done 24k and probably around 10 trackdays. I was told they were worn at the last service so was expecting to change them. Does seem to be a known problem but I’m told the replacements last much longer.
Do you know since when? I have an 08 Exige S and 10 trackdays/7k miles mine are holding up fine.
Hi Pete, when mine was serviced at HHC they ordered new ones under warranty which were fitted last week. Mine is 08 and done 5 trackdays and about 7k.
Steve
Mine ok, 15k lots of track days 4 years old…JSR said passenger side may need changing soonish however!
If they need replacing soon i’d order some now (and gawp at the price!) as I think they’re on backorder a lot (3 week wait last time IIRC). The stealer told me mine needed replacing soon at one service and after 2 trackdays they were completely fooked! If you start having probs getting the car turning in on the second part of a chicane or it starts wondering about a bit on the motorway get them looked at.
I only have 5k on the 2-11 and i’ve already had to change the n/s inner ball joint twice, outer once and the o/s inner once aswell…
easy to check for just jack the car up and wiggle the rear wheel left to right, you’ll feel any play as a slight ‘donking’ in your hands as you pull it backwards and forwards and depending on how worn they are you will see movement (worst I have seen is about 2mm of play at the edge of the rim)
hi steve mine has done 14k, does seem to be a problem with S2s by the response from other people.they cost 160+fitting+vat for a pair.
You’ll probably need a geo afterwards as well.
not always…
Ive changed them twice now in the paddock…loosen retaining nut then just count the amount of turns out it takes to remove the old one then wind the new one in the same amount of times… you can get it to within 1/2mm of where it was.
Hi ivejust ad mine done at HHC same thing it went in for a service and the links were worn its only done 7000 miles but luckly still in warrenty…i must say Tony and the boys are spot on i’ll be back there to deal with them again
