Rear toe links

Yes Pete, you should fit them

Thought the Seloc honda thread was interesting too Rob…

So… Any suggestions which ones??? YVO’s seem very trick but I am sure the Edwards conversions are great with whatever Martin uses… which is what please!

I suspect that Martin makes his own, but I may be wrong. Mine (& RussT’s) were made by a garage running BTCC cars way back in 2002

AndyD used to be able to get them made, but now he’s in Oz…?

TBH Pete, the whole K/Honda/Audi debate (on Seloc) has been done to death so many times, that I don’t bother reading it anymore. Since 2004, it was only ever entertaining/educational when SpecialK/Scuffers/DVA were posting (& fortunately, imho, DVA came through it with considerable merit, with his reputation intact, if not further enhanced)

i dont think the edwards make there own cos when they did mine i had to buy some elise parts ones

Indeed I was not looking at the Honda etc engine discussion as yes indeed it HAS been done to death… that is very clear!!!

Like most, I am happy with my K and of course, you Honda chaps are happy with your rice burners!!!

It was just the follow on to the Toe Links bit that cought my eye as I have never considered this… to be a problem!

I will take your advice and as it clearly is a concern they will be added over the winter!!!

… so that is another item for the X-mas list!!!

Whos set up are you considering Pete?

I have a set of AndyD spec toelinks I had made by him about 18months ago, but now have a set of the Spitfire ones on the car.

They have probably done less than 500miles if anyone is interested in them.

If you don’t mind me asking Mark, why did you change them?

YVO’s / Spitfire look and seem to be the option of choice…

Any photo’s of the set up?

Most likely because the Elise shop ones are somewhat better (lighter for one thing !! )

The ones we made were solid STST and somewhat heavy duty. You really would loose the rear of the car if you kerbed it …

Actually the Elise shop ones look the best value at moment TBH as they have the design improved I believe …

To be honest I dont think its worth making your own with the prices the main players are selling at.

To buy 4 decent rod ends you are looking at a minimum of 80 quid trade and the machining of the rod end spacers ( like the original Lotus sport kit ) is a right pain without a making a few hundered on a CNC lathe.

Thanks Andy.

This is the kit on the car.

As Andy said the Spitfire/Elise-Shop kit is light and very well made.

Having had bits of the kit lying around at home for well over a year and discussing it with Gaz quite a bit I felt it was time to actually get a full kit and fit it to the car.

Just to clarify - Marks picture is of the toe link we made not the Spitfire/Eliseshop version …

Voila, the elise-shop one. Just had it fitted to my Exige.

Excellent!

Very nice job too on the wishbones, bushes, braded hoses and the purple ‘p’ clips!

It is a real shame that the weak has now made these ones MUCH more expensive than the Elise Parts ones…

Wheels need a clean though!!!

Pete.

Wheels need a clean though!!!

I know it’s sad but i was thinking the same thing

Great post though.

That is sad.

But your right as always…I’ll get it sorted
