I might be being thick, but my rear fogs arent coming on.
Side lights on, Dipped beam on, Press Fog light switch…
No teltale light, Nothing at rear
Checked fuse 16, same as side lights… ok
Check the connector behind the drivers side dash side vent and also the connectors along the loom across the back of the rear lights. Interestingly my indicator stopped working at the back of the car…bulb had worked its way out and dropped into the cluster.
Thanks
Had a look in the boot and all looked well
Released switch panel, and aside from the lighting connector which always pops off as soon as you open it, all looked ok there too
Hypothermia setting in, so gave up until another time
reversing lights work (same light unit at back)
I am doubting all leds could fail together
tugged at connectors in boot
switch on dash works (checked by swapping with side light switch)
Should be the inner half of the inner lamp units.
You can just about see through the red lens when they are off
Square leds for fogs, blank elsewhere
One of yours sounds upsidedown
So only half the LEDs light up for the rear fogs?
Easy enough to re orientate the lights but that is how they where fitted at Lotus???
Bloody turnip bashers!!
Looked into this a bit more, and I am highly suspicious of the Switch Pack Module, basically an electronic box of gubbins that would normally be a set of relays. Set somewhere in the back of the instrument binnacle.
Oh joy !
Might be interested in one s/h inner light unit please Gav, since it looks as if I may have had water ingress, and I wouldnt want that to blow a new SPM
Replaced Switch Pack Module, problem sorted.
Evidently a common part to replace when strange things happen with anything in the lighting department.
It is behind the instrument binnacle.
Reasonably easy to get to, after taking off upper and lower steering column shrouds.
Not as easy to re-assemble
