Rear clam roof inlet

I’ve heard many people mention enlarging the rear clam roof inlet ‘letterbox’, and may consider doing it.

Anybody got any before and after pics? A quick search didn’t yield any results

It’s pretty easy to Dremel away the excess fibreglass to open up the slot.

There is a thread on the LotusTalk site, I’ll try and find it…

My roof is off at the mo so just took those for you…I guess it’s the before shot.

I’m sure JFK did a thread on here somewhere, try a search…

Here you go:

Brilliant, thanks gents

Looks like I should invest in a Dremel

I ask a simple question, and we unearth a bro-mance! :astonished:

Its an NA forced induction hybrid…bloody Toyotas lol

At the risk of dismissing brother Jonny,s dremel addiction ,I’d not bother buying one just to do this job … Piss easy with just a file or drill.
Weight saving too . About 8 grams
That’s a LOT of grams if you’re a dealer …lol

i did mine with a file, as long as you are carefull and take your time you will be fine, it is very soft and will come away very quickly

No need to buy a Dremel.
I used a sharp Stanley knife then finished off with abrasive paper.
Its only that lip at the bottom that needs removing
Fibre glass cuts and shapes very easily with these simple tools.

Don’t forget to mask up…

Very good point! I’m clearly a dumbass as I hadn’t thought of that…
